Founded in 1681, St. James Episcopal Church and Cemetery.
St. James Episcopal Cemetery contains a black iron chair ( seen below )that's known locally as the Witching Chair. It stands by the grave of Merritt P. Wright (1850-1911) and his wife. Local legend has it that when you sit in the chair at midnight during the month of October, the arms of a witch will come out and hold you onto the chair. One local resident claimed to see a woman sitting in the chair late one night. He was about to chase her away when she disappeared right before his eyes.
